First Art Experience Workshop
The Thatcham Art Experience held its first Saturday Workshop with a Guest Teacher for seventeen Group Members and their guests on Saturday, 12th November, 2011 in Thatcham Methodist Church Hall.
The Guest Teacher was Jill Eisele, a well-known artist and teacher living and working locally, and her theme was 'Learn to Draw by Learning to See'. The principles of the session were based on the ideas of Betty Edwards described in her famous book 'Drawing with the Right Side of the Brain'. The session was both enjoyable and informative and left her students wanting more! Jill said "Drawing is a wonderful life-enhancing and learnable skill available to all who persevere" and her infectious enthusiasm and expert teaching skills greatly encouraged her students!
The Thatcham Art Experience is a community art group which welcomes artists of any ability and experience. Members meet each Wednesday evening throughout the year in Thatcham Methodist Church Hall and newcomers are always welcome to come along for a free trial session.
