Fun on the Broadway

There was a great atmosphere on The Broadway Green, Thatcham, on Friday (26th August) despite the continuing threat of rain. Fun On The Broadway had returned providing free activities for children as the summer holidays draw to a close. Thatcham Neighbourhood Wardens provided a colouring competition while Sovereign South & West had giant board games for people to play and Town Council staff offered facepainting to children and a few adventurous adults.

Sovereign South & West also supported the event by giving a grant to Thatcham Town Council to provide a circus skills workshop where children learnt to juggle, plate spin and blow giant bubbles. Thatcham Town Mayor, Cllr Lee Dillon, joined in with the activities by trying out the unicycle. He said:

“It is great to see so many people enjoying the activities here today. There has been strong support from local businesses and I hope this event encourages more people to shop in Thatcham once they have seen what the town has to offer.”
