Thatcham’s Family Fun Day and Fun Run raise final funds to reach £30,000 target

Thatcham’s Family Fun Day

Thatcham Town Council are pleased to announce that the final total raised by the Council at Thatcham’s Family Fun Day was £1,296.05. Half of this will be donated to the Mayor’s Charity of the Year, the Friends of the Charles Clore Unit at West Berkshire Community Hospital. The other half has been given to the Spring Charity Fundraisers.

The Spring Charity Fundraisers organised the Junior Fun Run which generated £756. The two figures combined total over £1,400, which means that the Spring Charity Fundraisers have managed to reach the £30,000 target for their ‘Help Emma Walk Campaign’ just in time for Emma, who suffers with Cerebral Palsy, to fly to America with her family at the beginning of August for specialist surgery to enable her to walk.

Jane Wells from the Spring Charity Fundraisers said “The final money raised from the Fun Run and Fun Day has enabled us to reach our £30,000 target. We are delighted to be able to donate this wonderful sum to the Help Emma Walk Campaign. It was a great day for everyone with an amazing outcome for Emma and her family.
