Life Long Learning Fair

On the last weekend of the Thatcham Festival of Arts and Leisure (16th October 2010), come and visit more than 30 local providers of learning and find out what is available to you locally.

There is bound to be something to get those brain cells going: from getting your CV in top shape and interview skills for your next career move, or a bit of modern line dancing to keep fit, perhaps first aid or resuscitation is important for you, or maybe you fancy yourself as a film maker or an actor!  Theres even something for your little ones - give puppet making a go with them!

In the summer of 2008, a 10-year old boy wrote a letter to Thatcham Vision, detailing how his older siblings had a youth club to go to and how he had searched for something for his age group of a similar nature, but found there was no youth club for him to socialise and meet new friends that catered for his age.

Thatcham: an historic town in a changing world.

A new publication on Thatcham’s heritage is to be launched this October. The publication is a direct result if astudy that was instigated by Peter Allen under his role as the Thatcham Vision Project Manager and has been undertaken jointly by Thatcham Vision and Thatcham Historical Society. Sadly Peter passed away in May. The whole team has put every effort into making this publication something Peter would have been proud of and have dedicated it to him.

The Thatcham Flood Forum was set up as a result of recommendations contained in the Thatcham Town Council's report on flooding which occured during July 2007.

Vision Invites Comments on Thatcham Town Centre Study

Thatcham's Town Centre Regeneration Study (see West Berkshire Council's website), conducted by consultants Turley Associates, was published at the end of February, 2009. The study comprises 80+ pages of information, including background information to the study, a Town Centre Health Check, a Town Centre Design Audit and detailed Outputs and Recommendations.
