Action Plan and Topic Groups
Because there's a lot of ground to cover, we've set up a series of topic teams to look at different aspects of Thatcham, draw together the results of the public consultation exercises we're running and identify actions which need to be taken by others as well as projects which could be initiated by the community. This will form a master action plan, with each topic group contributing.
Please note, we are currently (June 2010) updating all of the plans to be placed online, you can still see on the original part 1, 2, 3 and 4 pages. In addition the complete set of original action plans can also be downloaded here.
The current topic groups are looking at:
- Antisocial behaviour
- Environment
- Heritage
- Lifelong learning
- Senior citizens'
- Social and community
- Town centre
- Transport
- Youth provision
These teams have now all identified possible goals, actions and projects and these are being researched and refined prior to publication of the Thatcham Vision's first action plan in mid-January 2007.
There are, of course, many other topics which affect the community's wellbeing and new teams will be set up after the first plan is produced to look at topics like:
- health and wellbeing
- homes and housing
- child-care
- education
No plan can ever remain static and the action plan will be no exception. It will cover a wide range of complex topics and relates to an ever changing situation. It's our intention that the plan will be strengthened and broadenend on a continous basis after it is published and we'll be making good use of the internet and web as a tool to help us do that.
